Israel's Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, celebrated India's victory over Pakistan in the Cricket World Cup. Gilon expressed happiness that Pakistan was "unable to attribute its victory to Hamas terrorists". He also shared a photo of an Indian fan at Narendra Modi Stadium waving a poster of PM Modi and Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets. The Friday Times called the loss a “lopsided affair”.
Gilon also said he was moved by Indians who displayed posters during the match. He expressed gratitude for the support from Indians.
Gilon also said that Israel will not forget the support shown by the Indian leadership and people during its ongoing war against Hamas.
